Toby is the Director of Trase and supports work across the initiative with a focus on the research and impact agendas. He co-founded Trase in 2014. Between 2015-2019 Toby co-led SEI's global initiative on Producer to Consumer Sustainability. Prior to joining SEI, Toby was a research fellow at the University of Cambridge where he helped found and coordinate the Sustainable Amazon Network, a multi-institutional research network working on sustainable land use in Pará, Brazil. Toby holds degrees from the University of Edinburgh (BSc, 2001) and the University of East Anglia (MSc, 2001; PhD 2007).
