
Janne Bemelmans
Researcher
Janne is a research scientist who joined Trase in 2025. She has a background in agricultural and development economics and works in the R&D and research teams, focussing on impact assessments of sustainable supply chain initiatives. Before joining Trase, Janne worked around socio-economic implications of voluntary sustainability standards in tropical commodity sectors, investigating their global trade effects as well as smallholder welfare effects. Janne holds degrees in agricultural economics and bioscience engineering from KU Leuven (BSc, 2016; MSc, 2018; PhD, 2024) and in development studies from the University of Antwerp (MSc, 2019).
