New company profiles show links to sourcing regions and deforestation hotspots
Feature makes it easier to explore and use Trase data by journalists and civil society organizations
Oxford, United Kingdom (24/06/2026) – Trase, the transparency initiative that maps global commodity supply chains, has launched a new area of its website dedicated to company-level data. This new feature provides visibility into the role companies play in sourcing commodities linked to deforestation risk.
The new “Companies” section allows users to explore how individual traders, exporters, and downstream companies are connected to production regions, offering a clearer picture of exposure to deforestation risk and greenhouse gas emissions.
The platform builds on Trase’s established methodology, which connects customs, shipping, and production data to map supply chains from production regions to international markets. The addition of a dedicated company interface marks a significant step forward in making this data more actionable and user-friendly.
Key features of the new section include:
- Company profiles showing sourcing regions and associated deforestation risk.
- Visualizations linking companies to supply chain flows and production areas.
- Tools to help map hotspots and prioritize action.
