Annual deforestation for cocoa is a subset of the territorial deforestation, and shows the total area deforested in the target year that will be subsequently converted to cocoa plantations. This metric was calculated based on deforestation as detected by (Vancutsem et al., 2021) and cocoa plantations as detected by (Kalischek et al., 2023).
